Alan Hush

Youth Director, Pastor Alan Hush, grew up in the rough council estates of North East England. A fourth generation Adventist, he personally encountered Christ in the Bible whilst travelling Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand at age 24. Alan graduated from Newbold College in 1999 with an MA in Religion, and went on to intern in the Wolverhampton and Birmingham districts. Before accepting his current position, he was Pastor of the Castle Vale, Chelmsley Wood, and Yardley churches.

Alan is married to Deniza and they share three children - Adriel, Lea and Lucas. He enjoys windsurfing, white water kayaking and has just taken up snowboarding.

Equipping the Youth

"Equipping our youth to take the Advent Message to the North of England and to all the world in this last generation".

The goal of the Youth Department is both to:

  1. Nurture our young people to accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour; and
  2. Engage them in the life and mission of the church.

Paul's charge in 1 Timothy 4:12 forms the basis of this goal - that because young people are important to God, that they should set an example to others through their words, actions, love, faith and a pure lifestyle.

It is this standard of excellence and character that we encourage our youth to personally experience through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

We also provide an array of resources, training and programmes to prepare and place you in the work of evangelism, both in the UK and abroad.
