Judy Hamilton-Johannsen from the Middlesbrough church has been busy working to raise funds in her local community for the Haiti ADRA Disaster Appeal. She raised £652.55 from her local school by holding a no-uniform day and having the students contribute to participate. She contacted the Holy Trinity School in neighbouring Stockton, who also held a no-uniform day raising a further £503.50.

Judy decorated six Teddy Bears and is running a name the Teddy competition in various venues with all participants making a donation in a tin to the ADRA appeal. She has Teddy’s and tins in the local police station, two pubs, the local hair dresser, sweet shops and the local school among other places.

Judy is normally a shy person but felt impelled to do something when she saw the awful devastation. “Everybody can do something,” she said; “It is not me, God does it through me.” What are you doing to help?
