ADRA Haiti Response

NEC Communications Department

The horror of the consequences of the category 7 earthquake on the island of Haiti has moved thousands of church members to contribute to the relief effort helping the injured and displaced on the Caribbean island. Thanks to those who have contributed so far and I am sure that many more will do so this week end in their local churches. Adventist Development Relief Agency and its partner agencies are busy on the ground doing what they can but desperately need your gifts to augment their aid efforts.

You can donate either directly at the www.adra.org.uk website or via the donation line, 0870 4955808 (Please note that this number is only available during business hours: Monday – Thursday 9 am – 5 pm and Friday 9 am – 12 noon.)  You can also maximise the value of your donation by Gift Aid. Please follow the link below showing what ADRA is doing and how you and your community can further assist in this crucial effort. Visit http://www.adventistreview.org/article.php?id=3085

The money donated to the ADRA emergency response fund is helping ADRA to run relief operations at the campus of the Haitian Adventist University in Carrefour, located just outside Port-au-Prince, where some 30,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) have sought refuge since the quake struck on 12 January. You can view a selection of very recent pictures of ADRA in action in Haiti on the BUC website, www.adventistpictures.org.uk/gallery/2010/ADRAhaiti. Please feel free to share these with those around you.
