On the 26th December 2009 an innovative ministry project combining arts and evangelism was founded and led by youth at the Newtown-Aston Community SDA Church in Birmingham. Called, ‘Vision: Create Evangelize, the aim is to channel the creative gifts and talents of youth into public evangelism, using a specially designed program centered on creativity in the Bible.

The three-week pilot project progressed with a series of workshops including Art & Crafts, Graphic Design, Creative Writing & Poetry and Media Communications. These workshops were lead by committed team of young people with an expertise and passion for their subject matter. They used this opportunity to help others develop skills, enabling them to produce evangelistic resources. The four workshops then collaborated to produce one corporate evangelistic tract and a range of personal gifts with spiritually uplifting messages. These items were then utilized in a well-planned creative community outreach program.

Vision: Create Ministries, is complemented by Eternal Ministries Drama group which was established to harness the power of drama in expressing the gospel message. Eternal Ministries Drama group shares the same mission to channel creative gifts and talents into evangelism and they will be present at the launch on the 30th of January.

Justin Mullings, a facilitator in the creative writing workshop stated that ‘It was a fantastic opportunity to evangelize using our creative skills.’ There will be additional training opportunities in the year ahead to train and empower others with an interest in this area.
