Bio:
Dr. Smith, a native of Brooklyn, New York. His father was in the Seventh-day Adventist Gospel Ministry.

Dr. Smith is a graduate of Oakwood College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology & Biblical Languages. He received his Masters of Divinity degree from Andrews University Theological Seminary in 1982.

Dr. Smith earned two doctoral degrees. In 1985, the Colgate Rochester Divinity School, Rochester, New York, conferred the Doctor of Ministry degree upon him. In 1995 he graduated with a Ph.D. in Psychology from the Fuller Graduate School of Psychology in Pasadena, California.

Dr. Smith has served in the Seventh-day Adventist Gospel Ministry for 28 years in the Northeastern and Southern California Conferences. Among his various pastoral assignments he has served as Senior Pastor of the Berean Church in Los Angeles, California, and the Ephesus Church in Harlem, New York.

Dr. Smith is a Registered Clinical Psychologist, and Marital & Family Therapist.

He served as Vice President of the Review and Herald Publishing Association and Editor-in-Chief of Message magazine for 8 years.

Dr. Smith is currently the Executive Secretary of the Southern Union Conference.

He has been married to Yolanda for 28 years, and they have two children. His daughter Dawn is a graduate of Oakwood College, and his son Ron is a senior Theology major at Oakwood College.



Sharon Robles M.D. – Health Speaker


Bio:
Sharon M. Robles, M.D. is a graduate of Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama and the Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D. C.   She currently practices Internal Medicine and Endocrinology in a New York City public clinic.

She is a member of the City Tabernacle of Seventh-day Adventists in New York City where she serves as the leader of the Health Ministries department and as a member of the Personal Ministries, Family Life and Audiovisual departments.

 

 

Elaine Graham-Kennedy, Ph.D.

Elaine G. Kennedy

Bio:
Dr. Elaine G. Kennedy received her doctorate in geology from the University of Southern California in 1991.  Dr. Kennedy works as a research scientist and adjunct professor of geology at the Southwestern Adventist University dinosaur field station in eastern Wyoming.  Her research has been focused for the past 14 years in two localities: Grand Canyon, Arizona, where she studied boulder deposits and Patagonia, Argentina, where she conducted research related to dinosaur nesting.  

Dr. Kennedy is married, has two daughters and one granddaughter.  She has recently published Dinosaurs: Where did they come from…and where did they go? for Christian children and other curious folk.  In addition to rocks and fossils, she enjoys mysteries, Georgian architecture, and a variety of needlework.
